Leading Literacy Change:
Leadership Best Practice in the Age of the Science of Reading Movement
School and district leaders play a critical role in shifting instructional practice in their schools. Their roles are more important than ever as schools respond to the urgent need to address literacy gaps. During this one day, in person event, leaders will build their knowledge of the why, what and how of Science of Reading. They will leave with practical leadership strategies to effectively and efficiently shift teacher practice, anticipate challenges, and identify quick wins in order to accelerate student learning. They will consider how curriculum review and adoption processes can support shifting practice and examine a tool to help make informed curriculum decisions. We encourage participants to come with a team of 2–3 other literacy leaders.
