Audrey Goninan, M.Ed., is a Literacy Specialist with the Office of Early Learning and Literacy for the South Carolina Department of Education. In this role she provides support to schools and districts in the Upstate region, specifically focusing on building teacher capacity in evidence-based practices. She also supports the implementation of MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) throughout South Carolina by facilitating professional learning and developing resources for district leaders. Audrey is also a LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) facilitator for South Carolina and a founding member and president of the South Carolina chapter of The Reading League. Audrey works as an independent contractor with educational companies to review and write curricular materials as well as provide professional development to schools nation-wide. Audrey utilizes training from The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) to tutor students in grades K-8. Audrey has presented at local and national conferences and is passionate about ensuring all students receive instruction that leads to productive and literate lives.
