Catherine is an educator with over 25 years of experience, having served in various roles including elementary public school teacher, certified reading specialist, and Orton-Gillingham practitioner in private practice. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Literacy from Providence College in Rhode Island. 

Her career has been defined by a deep passion for literacy and a steadfast commitment to equipping educators with the knowledge and strategies necessary to address literacy gaps. Catherine is a Fellow of the Orton-Gillingham Academy and serves on its Standards Committee, where she contributes to maintaining the organization’s certification and accreditation standards. She is also the co-owner of Lowcountry OG Training, which provides Orton-Gillingham training, observations, practicum supervision, mentorship, and professional development to help teachers achieve OGA credentialing. Furthermore, Catherine is the Director of the Lowcountry Literacy Project, an initiative of OG Charleston dedicated to providing public school educators with the tools to transform literacy instruction and improve student outcomes. In addition, she serves as an Orton-Gillingham Coach for the Stern Center for Language and Learning in Vermont. 

Catherine resides in Mount Pleasant, SC with her husband and four children.
