Laura Zorn is a dedicated educational leader with a career rooted in empowering teachers and
school leaders to enhance student outcomes. Currently serving as the Director of Primrose
School in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Laura draws on her extensive experience in instructional
leadership, teacher training, and evidence-based practices to cultivate a high-quality learning
environment.
Throughout her career, Laura has been deeply committed to equipping educators with the
knowledge and skills needed to implement effective instructional practices. She is a Nationally
Certified Professional Learning Facilitator of LETRS and has led over 200 in-person and virtual
professional development sessions nationwide, focusing on the Science of Reading. Laura has
also provided expert coaching and training in programs such as Fundations, Wilson, FastBridge,
and RethinkEd, helping teachers translate research into practice.
With over a decade of classroom and school leadership experience, including work in Title I
schools and international settings, Laura has a proven track record of supporting educators in
diverse environments. She spent five years in senior district-level leadership roles, where she
led large-scale professional learning initiatives, coached instructional leaders, and oversaw the
implementation of literacy programs that improved student achievement. Her expertise includes
guiding teachers and leaders in adopting structured literacy approaches grounded in the Simple
View of Reading and Scarborough’s Rope, ensuring alignment with best practices in reading
instruction.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from West Virginia
University and has completed over 20 graduate hours at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University. She is currently pursuing certification in Orton-Gillingham and LETRS Administration
Facilitation, further demonstrating her dedication to advancing teacher knowledge and practice.
Laura’s passion for building teacher capacity and improving instructional quality is central to her
mission. She believes that sustainable school improvement begins with well-trained educators
who are equipped to meet the diverse needs of their students. Her work continues to shape
classrooms where all learners can thrive.
In her free time, Laura enjoys painting with various mediums and gardening, finding both
activities to be creative outlets that bring her joy and relaxation.
